Great ! Gibson Les Paul Robot Guitar

Gibson Robot Guitar Limited Edition

Gibson surely developed a cool guitar collection item !
It is a real innovating item for the guitar world because this digitized Les Paul clone can tune itself precisely using robotic technology. For talented professional musicians tuning is not a big problem for sure, but amateur guitar players like me will understand how the changing strings and tuning process is time consuming and mostly the result is far from perfect.

Another sweet thing is, you can have alternate tunings by just a push of a led knob. Clearly, if you want a momentary Drop D Tuning for your metal, rock sounds it is just a button ahead. There are 6 tuning presets, which are by default the most used like. Of course, you can customize each of them. After selecting one, all you have to do is strum the strings. The mechanics, fitted with servo motors, will then tune all the strings. Servo operation and tuning
status is displayed on the Master Control Knob (MCK).

There is no tremolo bar on the guitar. (If you have talent, this little arm makes you play like Steve Vai, with all such tension and pitch changes) Anyway, I expect from Gibson to put our lovely whammy bar to this design in the next release. Then, it would be really fantastic if they could develop more on such technology.

Here’s an official video demonstration.

Gibson Robot Guitar First Run Limited Edition will be available on December 7, 2007 on these stores (for each store max. 10 guitars)
