Some green life enthusiasts perfectly blend their obsession for eco-friendly environment with contemporary art styles. Here are 4 successful examples of creativity.

Rotating Eco Dome Home

360 degrees rotatable and built strong enough to resist natural disasters like earthquakes and hurricanes. The energy for rotation comes from solar panels. Originally from France but now available to US by Solaleya.

Hundertwasserhaus Green Architecture

Designed by Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser and finally built in 1986 by architectors after a 3 years of effort. Grass and trees are everywhere including the rooms. Now, a perfect tourist attraction and protected as a cultural heritage.

Free Spirit Sphere Tree House

One of the most successful tree house applications are located among the marvelous trees of the west coast rain forest of Vancouver Island, Canada. Free Spirit Spheres can be rented or even purchased. Suitable for elves to meditate and trolls for wild attacks.

Amazing Hobbit Home

Maybe, this home is the one which deserves the most praises. It was built by an amateur constructor in Wales spending only £300o. He just got the help of his father-in-law and a few visitors. A happy Tolkien powered hobbit style home life is the essence.

When you look at the shoes photo below, I am sure you will suddenly feel running like Usain Bolt or climbing your favorite mountain crazily. Let’s confess honestly, eventhough we don’t make sports well it would be so attractive to wear a pair of Vibram 5 Fingers on our dirty city streets. Seriously, it is something like walking barefoot and can be useful in places where you are not allowed in shoes. The company states that their shoes not only provide lightness and protection but also helps conditioning more than 100 muscles in the foot and covering each toes seperately. We well spend money on stylish iPhone cases, why not throwing a few bucks more for sportive silicone foot cases

I had written about the only swimming guitar in the world in my previous post. This time, I will introduce you my latest action gadget discovery. Walking house ! This house was built in Denmark by a team of engineers to give an idea about an alternative eco-lifestyle. It is written in the official walking house website that there are solar panels and little windmills to collect energy from the natural environment. It can collect the rain water and there is a toilet system as well.

This 6 legged hydrological living form was inspired by the traditional nomadic culture of Romanis. There is a crazy idea as well we should note. You can establish a walking village with thousands of walking houses, in theory.

I am so glad to write about LifeStraw. It is a great example that reminds us that there are poor nations in many continents , especially in Africa who are fighting with diseases which is a direct result of dirty water sources.

LifeStraw is an instrument which instantly purifies the water and makes it ready to drink with the chromatographic techniques and other well-known filter methods. A single personal LifeStraw gadget can process 700 liters of water in a year and usage life is 3 years. 2 liters a day is a great start to develop such products for future.

There are two models : Personal and family. The difference is that even though family model is capable of removing all heavy metals, viruses, parasites, bacteria even in really muddy, over dirty water, personal Lifestraw model doesn’t filter heavy metals and some parasites. Family model can process 15,000 litres of water in a year, with life time of 2 years. Approximately 20 liters / day for a typical family is great helper for African families.

I understand that personal model is for extreme situations but I would like to see that personal model will also clear all dangerous things to health for perfection.

Well, I think LifeStraw can be a great symbol for developing Africa and actually aid concerts can be made to provide these life saving gadgets for families to people who need.

The LifeStraw was studied and tested by the University of North Carolina and developed by Vestergaard Frandsen of Switzerland and the USA with a mission of addressing disease control issues.

My congratulations to honest scientists who are thinking and working for a better world !

While I was stumbling today I came across an interesting site.

They build really interesting houses. I mean not the regular rectangle boxes.

Interesting idea even though some photos remind me breakout of aliens residences

Excerpt from the site :

The
antioxidant solution innovated biotechnologically solves asthma,
rhinitis and other symptoms of “sick-house syndrome” and “chemical
sensitivity syndrome”, and catalyzes to suppress active oxygen which
causes sickness or aging. As a result, the Dome House restores your
health strength and you will less likely to fall ill.

The first one is a solar and wind power combo solution which uses ivy-like flexible leaves to produce energy on the walls.

There are electrical receivers under each leaf to harvest the energy. I find it also aesthetically appealing. The project is called GROW by SMIT, the industrial designer company. Here is an interview with the CEO of SMIT at Ecolect. Their aim is to be able to sell this modular system in design & building stores in 1, 2 years. The photo looks like a CPU, so AMD or Intel can put their logos for advertisement purposes.

The second one is exactly what we will have to do in big cities in the future. An apartment tower with its own hydroponic garden, better to say a little tree park where you can also produce your own organic food. A UN report shows that in 2010, 50% of Chinese population will live in apartments in cities. It is known that it will bring problems of excessive air and soil pollution and the damage to natural resources.
So, here is our hero of Agro-housing. This garden apartment becomes alive in Wuhan, China, soon. A presentation video of the project.
